About Big Group Hug

Every child deserves to feel safe, warm and cared for. Yet many families experiencing financial hardship, family violence, homelessness and other challenging circumstances are forced to go without essentials most of us take for granted.

Big Group Hug provides babies and children with the items they need to grow, learn and thrive. From safe cots, car seats and prams to warm clothing, bedding, nappies, formula, toiletries, toys and books.

For a child, this can mean sleeping safely, travelling securely, staying warm through winter or arriving at school with the clothing and supplies they need. For a parent or carer, it can ease financial pressure and bring reassurance that their child is safe and supported.

In the past year, with the support of the community and 400 volunteers, we provided critical aid to 8,619 children, diverting 194,200kg from landfill.

Funds raised through Pickleball for Purpose will help provide these essentials free of charge to children from newborn to 16 years old.

By taking part, you’re helping give children comfort, safety, dignity and the opportunity to participate fully in everyday life, because no child should have to go without the essentials they need.
